Small, but fun · Oct 25, 11:29 AM

The fifth XP Day North America was held at Community Connect in Manhattan on October 13, 2007. We couldn’t have asked for a better location to host Steve Freeman, George Dinwiddie and Naresh Jain. Our focus was sustainability in all its forms in XP.

Steve launched the day with an “alphabet talk” in which he highlighted various sustainability-related themes in XP. Tutorials included an introduction to XP with the Theory of Constraints, a discussion of the “sustainable career” and a fishbowl session in which we fixed a defect on the XP Day web site, complete with the individual who found the defect! This gave the audience an opportunity to discuss fixing defects in XP as well as behavior-driven development using RSpec on Rails.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended XP Day Manhattan 2007 for helping to make it a success. The group was small, but the conversations were lively and the results were good. We are now preparing for the 2008 season, including some changes for the better.

Continue the conversation at the XP Day Manhattan 2007 wiki!
